10 GENERAL ASSEMBLY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

14 CONCERNING RECURRING REPORTS SUBMITTED
15 TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

17 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

19 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code Title 25, Chapter 1, Subchapter 2, is amended
20 to add an additional section to read as follows:
21 25-1-207. Submission of recurring reports to General Assembly --
22 Definition.
23 (a) As used in this section, "recurring report" means a report that is
24 to be filed more than one (1) time and is:
25 (1) Required by statute; or
26 (2) Requested by the General Assembly, one (1) or more
27 committees or subcommittees of the General Assembly, or one (1) or more
28 officers of the General Assembly.
29 (b) If a state agency is required to file a recurring report with the
30 General Assembly, one (1) or more committees or subcommittees of the General
31 Assembly, or one (1) or more officers of the General Assembly, the state
32 agency shall file the recurring report three (3) times in the required
33 manner.
34 (c)(1) Following the third submission of a recurring report under
35 subsection (b) of this section, the state agency shall not file subsequent
36 reports unless requested by the entity or individual receiving the report.

1 (2) Upon the third submission of a recurring report, the state
2 agency shall inform the entity or individual receiving the report that no
3 subsequent reports will be filed unless requested under subdivision (c)(1) of
4 this section.
5 (d) This section does not prohibit the General Assembly, one (1) or
6 more committees or subcommittees of the General Assembly, or one (1) or more
7 officers of the General Assembly from directing a state agency to resume
8 filing a recurring report following the cessation of reporting under this
9 section.

11 SECTION 2. DO NOT CODIFY. IMPLEMENTATION.
12 (a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, this act
13 shall be applied prospectively so that a state agency shall file a recurring
14 report three (3) times on or following the effective date of this act before
15 ceasing reporting under this act.
16 (b) If the General Assembly, one (1) or more committees or
17 subcommittees of the General Assembly, or one (1) or more officers of the
18 General Assembly has received a report from a state agency more than three
19 (3) times before the effective date of this act, the entity or individual may
20 request that the state agency not file subsequent reports unless requested by
21 the entity or individual.
