10             AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE A BLOOD TYPE DESIGNATION TO BE

11             PLACED ON A DRIVER'S LICENSE OR IDENTIFICATION CARD;

12             AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

17                       BE PLACED ON A DRIVER'S LICENSE OR

18                       IDENTIFICATION CARD.

20 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

22      SECTION 1. Arkansas Code Title 27, Chapter 16, Subchapter 8, is

23 amended to add an additional section to read as follows:

24      27-16-818. Blood type designation.

25      (a)(1) A person, or the parent or guardian of a person, may apply to

26 the Office of Driver Services to obtain a blood type designation on a

27 driver's license or identification card issued under this subchapter by

28 providing:

29                       (A) A signed form stating the blood type of the person;

30 and

31                       (B) Payment of the fee for the driver's license or

32 identification card authorized under this chapter.

33             (2) If the person seeks a duplicate or substitute driver's

34 license with the blood type designation and his or her driver's license has

35 not expired, the fee shall be as provided under � 27-16-806.

36      (b) The Office of Driver Services may:

1   (1) Determine the appropriate placement of the blood type

2 designation on a driver's license or identification card authorized under

3 this section; and

4   (2) Promulgate rules for the administration of this section.

5   (c) This section does not require a person other than an applicant

6 under this section to:

7   (1) Provide his or her blood type to the Office of Driver

8 Services; or

9   (2) Have a blood type designation placed on his or her driver's

10 license or identification card.

11  (d) An applicant under this section is exclusively responsible for:

12  (1) The accuracy of information submitted to the Office of

13 Driver Services; and

14  (2) Verification of the accuracy of the information placed on

15 the applicant's driver's license or identification card, including without

16 limitation the obligation to request an immediate correction if the

17 information is incorrect.

19  SECTION 2. DO NOT CODIFY. Effective date. This act is effective on

20 and after January 1, 2026.
