9   AN ACT TO REPEAL ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR THE

10  DEVELOPMENT AND ADMINISTRATION OF PROFESSIONAL

11  LEARNING COMMUNITIES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

15                       TO REPEAL ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR THE

16                       DEVELOPMENT AND ADMINISTRATION OF

17                       PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES.

19 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

21  SECTION 1. Arkansas Code � 6-20-2305(b)(5)(C), concerning additional

22 funding for professional learning communities, is repealed.

23                       (C)(i) For the 2023-2024 school year and each school year

24 thereafter, additional funding up to sixteen million five hundred thousand

25 dollars ($16,500,000) provided for professional development above the amount

26 in subdivision (b)(5)(A) of this section shall be used by the Division of

27 Elementary and Secondary Education for the development and administration of

28 professional learning communities for the benefit of public school districts.

29                       (ii)(a) The Division of Elementary and Secondary

30 Education shall promulgate rules to administer the additional professional

31 development funding under subdivision (b)(5)(C)(i) of this section.

32                                (b) The Division of Elementary and Secondary

33 Education may partner with or choose a person, firm, corporation, or

34 education service cooperative to provide the knowledge, skills, experience,

35 and expertise for the development of a research-based process for the

36 implementation of professional learning communities.
