What it does

This act adds Section 36-27-49.4 to the Code of Alabama 1975, to authorize participating members of the Employees’ or Teachers' Retirement System of Alabama to purchase up to four years of service credit for nonmilitary public service performed for the federal government so long as the member has at least ten years of contributing membership service credit and satisfies other conditions.
