What it does
This act amends Sections 11-40-62 and 11-40-69, Code of Alabama 1975, relating to Class 2 Municipalities that have adopted statutorily provided procedures to enforce violations of housing and building codes as municipal code liens, to: (1) add as interested parties owners of owner-occupied properties that are contiguous with properties subject to such liens; (2) add that "owner-occupied" property is a principal residence that is exempt from ad valorem tax or occupied by the family of a decedent
