What it does
This act adds Section 11-43-5.3 to the Code of Alabama 1975, to: (1) authorize Class 8 municipalities with a population of 25,000 or more and corporate limits lying in two counties to opt out of a county personnel board’s jurisdiction; (2) require a municipality that opts out to create its own municipal civil service system and continue all vested rights and interests of individuals who were subject to the county personnel board; and (3) prohibit a municipality that creates its own municipal civ
